April 6 to 8, 2013, the third “Sino-UK Marxist Aesthetics Bilateral Forum” was held grandly in the School of Humanities of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, with the theme of “Maxims and Future”. More than 90 scholars of over 50 colleges and universities attended the meeting. The scholars present had a very thorough and heated discussion around the theme of “Sino-UK Marxist Aesthetics Bilateral Forum”.
Professor Jiang Hong, director of the Division for the development of liberal arts, hosted the opening ceremony. Professor Xu Fei, vice president of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, spoke highly of the significance in advancing the Marxism theoretical study and developing of this bilateral forum with a form of academic exchange. On the opening ceremony, the vice president Professor Xu, together with Mr. Zhou Lingfei held the Signing Ceremony for the “Left-wing Culture Research Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University”.
Aboard, there are more than 20 oversea attendees from 17 colleges, universities and research institutions, including the University of California, Santa Barbara of U.S.A, London University, and the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium, the University of Ghent in Belgium, Duke University of U.S.A, Monash University Australia, and University of Manchester. In addition, more than 60 domestic experts from more than 50 domestic colleges, universities and academic research institutions as well as New Agency, including Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Peking University, Fudan University, Zhejiang University and Central Compilation & Translation Press attended this forum.
