The Meeting between Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the University of Malaya Successfully Held Online

On September 22, 2022, the online meeting between the School of Humanities at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Malaya (UM) was successfully held. The meeting was moderated by Prof. Cai Wenjing, Vice Dean of the School of Humanities at SJTU, and faculty members from both universities attended the meeting. 

Datuk Professor Dr. Danny Wong Tze Ken, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at UM, stated that he was pleased to attend this online meeting and discuss possible collaboration with the School of Humanities at SJTU. He introduced the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at UM, and expressed his wish to promote in-depth cooperation with the School of Humanities at SJTU in terms of faculty exchange, student exchange, joint courses, etc. 

Prof. Cai Wenjing introduced the School of Humanities at SJTU with a focus on its internationalization and double degree programs. She hoped that through this meeting, the two universities could achieve a better understanding of each other and promote collaboration in joint cultivation of students, research collaboration and joint courses. 

During the meeting, faculty members from both universities conducted an in-depth discussion, and agreed that they would continue to strengthen connections and promote cooperation in such fields as Chinese language and literature, history, philosophy, and international Chinese language education.

Qi Hong delivered a final speech. She mentioned that adhering to innovation, openness and inclusiveness, the School of Humanities at SJTU was committed to promoting international exchanges and collaboration. She believed that this meeting was the starting point for cooperation, and both universities would continue to exchange ideas and promote more collaboration in student cultivation and international research.
