The Online Orientation for the Double Bachelor Degree Program Held between Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Mahidol University

On September 21, 2022, the online orientation for the double bachelor degree program was held between the School of Humanities at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) and the Faculty of Liberal Arts at Mahidol University (MU). Faculty members from both universities and the double bachelor degree program students attended the orientation. 

Prof. Aphiwit Liang-itsara, Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts at MU, delivered a welcome address. He mentioned that the double bachelor degree program agreement was signed in October 2019 between SJTU and MU, both of which were world-renowned universities with a good academic reputation. He also mentioned that with the joint efforts of both universities, the double bachelor degree program had been promoted smoothly and had already admitted the second batch of students. he believed that the program would cultivate talents proficient in Chinese and make them a bridge between China and Thailand.

Ms. Qi Hong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Humanities at SJTU, also delivered a speech. She mentioned that this year was the second year of the implementation of the double bachelor degree program, and 29 first-year program students had already registered at SJTU to study. She encouraged program students to make efforts to improve their Chinese language skills and contribute to the bilateral exchanges in the future. She also stressed that both universities would continue to strengthen connections and promote more collaboration in the fields of culture and education.

Later, faculty and staff from both universities gave a detailed introduction to the double bachelor degree program and answered program students’ questions related to courses, accommodation, visa, etc. Program students also expressed their expectation for the future study at SJTU.
