The Signing Ceremony for the Double Master Degree Program Agreement Held Online

On June 18, 2021, the School of Humanities at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) and the Faculty of Arts at the University of Bristol (UOB) held an online signing ceremony for the double master degree program agreement.

Prof. Luo Peng, Director of SJTU’s International Affairs Division, delivered a welcome address on behalf of SJTU. He mentioned that SJTU and UOB were world-renowned universities and had maintained a sound relationship for many years. He added that with this double degree agreement in humanities, the two universities could work together to cultivate students with an international vision and strong research abilities.

Dr. Erik Lithander, UOB’s Pro Vice-Chancellor Global Engagement, also delivered a welcome speech. He mentioned that for many years, faculty members from both universities had worked closely and collaborated in many ways, and the academic exchanges were quite frequent. He believed that this double degree agreement would help strengthen the connections between the two universities and promote further collaboration in more fields.

Later, each university introduced its schools and departments, and its future plan for the implementation of the double master degree program. Then, Dr. Erik Lithander and Prof. Wang Ning, Dean of SJTU’s School of Humanities, signed the double master degree program agreement and made closing remarks respectively. Both mentioned that they would make efforts to guarantee the smooth progression of the program and would co-organize a series of guest lectures on humanities this September.
