The Award Ceremony for the “Liuhe Humanities Foundation” Outstanding Young Teacher Award Program Held

On the afternoon of March 21st, the Award Ceremony for the Outstanding Young Teacher Award Program of the “Liu Humanities Foundation” of the School of Humanities was held in Xuhui Campus, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Attenders include Xia Xiaohui, alumnus of Jiao Tong University and Chairman of Liuhe Investment Co., Ltd., Deng Kui, General Manager of Shanghai Liuhe Jiarui Investment Management Co., Ltd., Zhuo Xiaofan, General Manager of Shanghai Liuhe Investment Co., Ltd., Liu Jianxin, Secretary of the School’s Party Committee, Yin Jie, Deputy Director of Development Liaison Division of SJTU, Wang Xifang, Deputy Secretary of the School’s Party Committee and Liu Jialin, Vice Dean of the School of Humanities. The ceremony was hosted by Yang Qingcun, Dean of the School of Humanities.

Liu Jianxin expressed her welcome for the arrival of all the guests and sincere gratitude to Liuhe Investment Co., Ltd. for their support for the School of Humanities. She also introduced in detail the use of the “Liuhe Humanities Foundation” in 2017 and the forthcoming talent introduction plan of the School in 2018.

Deputy Director Yin Jie expressed gratitude to Xia Xiaohui for his long-term support for the university and congratulation to the winning teachers, and asked the School of Humanities to use the foundation exclusively for good purpose.

Mr. Xia Xiaohui made a speech and recalled the friendly cooperation between Liuhe Company and the School of Humanities. With an example of his own experience, he talked about the essential importance of humanistic education for personal growth.

The award ceremony was held for the Outstanding Young Teacher Award Program of the “Liuhe Humanities Foundation”. An Qi, Lecturer of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Zhao Siyuan, Associate Professor of the Department of History, Chen Yong, Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy, and Ding Ting, Lecturer of the Center for Chinese International Education were selected for the 2017 Award Program. Mr. Xia Xiaohui conferred the four teachers with award certificates.

After the award ceremony, a small seminar among attending guests was held with the theme of “Cultivation and Application of Critical Thinking”. The participants made discussions on critical thinking from their workplace practices and respective professional backgrounds. The seminar ended in friendly and warm atmosphere.
