On September 12, 2017, co-hosted by World Anti-Fascist War Research Center and School of Humanities, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Thematic Exhibition entitled “From Northeast to North China: The Historic Choice of a Chinese Military Officer” grandly raised the curtain in China Photo Exhibition Center, with a view to celebrating the 90th Anniversary of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army and the 80th Anniversary of Full-Blown Outbreak of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japan and paying tribute to the upcoming 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
Lv Zhengcao is a founding general officer of the New China and the former high-ranking military officer of Northeast Regional Army in the Republic of China (1912-1949). This exhibition focuses on glorious history of his devotion to the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japan, unravels images, historical materials, archives, literatures and other valuable information, impresses all visitors with vivid storyline of Lv Zhengcao’s growth from a patriotic officer of Northeast Regional Army to the CPC general dedicated to War of Resistance against Japan, and expounds on extraordinary legend of this reputed general coming to the fore in War of Resistance against Japan. This exhibition brings together about 250 historical pictures and text materials, which are mainly collectibles preserved by seven literature repositories (such as National Archives of the United States, the Central Archives, The Second Historical Archives of China and the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Archives) and three families at home and abroad. Many of such exhibits are made public for the first time, and demonstrate great historical value.
