Students in the School of Humanities celebrate Chinese New Year Together On Campus

2026-02-12

Embracing the spirit of the Year of the Horse and the arrival of spring, the School of Humanities hosted a festive Chinese New Year reunion banquet on February 9th. Qi Hong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Humanities, Chen Lilin , Deputy Party Secretary, representatives of the Student Affairs Office along with students staying on campus, gathered to celebrate the upcoming holiday.

The evening featured a vibrant performance by the university's Student Art Troupe, under the guidance of the Art Education Center. The festivities commenced with a horse-themed medley by the university's Folk Music Ensemble: the energetic ensemble piece "Horse Racing," the cheerful and flowing " Delivering Public Grain with Horse Carts” evoking springtime scenes, and the Kazakh folk classic "Black Galloping Horse," reimagined with traditional Chinese instruments, showcasing the campus's diverse and integrated artistic style.

Guests engaged in traditional cultural activities, including the ancient game of touhu (pitch-pot) and calligraphy, where they penned auspicious wishes for the new year. The atmosphere buzzed with holiday cheer and laughter. Following the banquet, attendees moved to the Student Center to enjoy the heartwarming film "Take off."

Earlier, the School of Humanities organized a dedicated Spring Festival gathering for its on-campus students. Faculty and students came together to make dumplings, craft the character "福" (Fu, meaning fortune), and share a meal rich in traditional New Year flavors, fostering a warm and lively pre-festival atmosphere.

The school presented carefully prepared gift packages to the students staying on campus, conveying sincere New Year wishes and ensuring they felt the festive spirit and the school’s deep care despite being away from home.

As the new year begins and spring gradually takes hold, the School of Humanities remains committed to providing excellent service and support for students during the winter break. The School aims to create a warm, safe, and orderly campus environment—ensuring that all students can enjoy a peaceful, joyful, and meaningful Spring Festival holiday. On this auspicious occasion, we extend our warmest wishes to all faculty, students, and their families: may the Year of the Horse bring you happiness, health, prosperity, and all your dreams come true.
