From August 5 to 17, 2024, the 2024 “Chinese Bridge” Summer Camp was successfully held in the School of Humanities at SJTU. The two-week program attracted 13 international students from Canada, Germany, the United States and other countries to attend.
The School of Humanities provided a range of immersive Chinese language courses and created an all-Chinese environment for international students. The students were attentive in class and interacted actively with the teachers.
Apart from language courses, the School of Humanities arranged a series of cultural courses to help students fully experience the charm of Chinese culture. Students practiced Tai Ji and Chinese calligraphy, and tasted Chinese-style cuisines, achieving a deeper understanding of Chinese culture.
The School of Humanities also arranged a three-day cultural tour in Shanghai and Suzhou for the students. The students visited classical and modern architecture, and tasted various kinds of food, experiencing both traditional culture and modern life in China.
By the end of the program, the students shared their ideas of life in China, and mentioned that they had benefited a lot from the program and improved their Chinese language skills in a short time. They also expressed that they would continue to study Chinese language and culture, and help promote the cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.
