The Delegation from the University of Szeged Visited the School of Humanities at SJTU

On May 13, 2024, Prof. Péter Zakar, Vice Rector of the University of Szeged (SZTE), Prof. Sándor Papp, Head of the Department of History at SZTE, and Dr. Szabolcs Felföldi, Assistant Professor of SZTE visited the School of Humanities at SJTU. Prof. Liu Weidong, Vice President of SJTU, Ms. Guo Liang, Deputy Director of SJTU’s International Affairs Division, Prof. Cai Wenjing, Vice Dean of SJTU’s School of Humanities, Prof. Chang Chihyun and Associate Prof. Chen Hao from the School’s Department of History attended the reception.

During the meeting, Prof. Liu Weidong expressed his welcome to the delegation and his wish to promote future collaboration between the two universities in academic research, faculty and student exchange and cultural exchanges. Prof. Péter Zakar made a detailed introduction of SZTE, including its history, schools and faculties, and international cooperation, and expressed his wish to strengthen connection and promote collaboration with SJTU.

Ms. Guo Liang introduced the international exchange and cooperation of SJTU, and encouraged the faculty members from both universities to jointly apply for international projects. Prof. Cai Wenjing introduced the School of Humanities, and Prof. Chang Chihyun introduced the School’s Department of History and the English-taught master program Modern Chinese Studies. The two parties had an in-depth discussion and explored the possibilities of collaboration in academic research, courses and student exchange. Both parties agreed that this visit was the starting point for cooperation, and they would endeavor to promote further collaboration, especially in the field of humanities in the near future.
