The Opening Ceremony for the 2023 Chinese Language Program Students Held in the School of Humanities

On September 8, 2023, the opening ceremony for the Chinese language program students was held in the School of Humanities at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The ceremony was moderated by Prof. Wang Jun, Director of the International Chinese Education Center of the School of Humanities, and has attracted more than 140 international students to attend.

 Ms. Qi Hong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Humanities, delivered a welcome address and encouraged the students to work hard to improve their Chinese and help promote the cultural exchanges between China and other countries.

Student representative Ilihon from Tajikistan shared his experience of learning Chinese in China and at SJTU and expressed his love for Shanghai.

Associate Prof. Li Shijian from the International Chinese Education Center gave a talk on how to improve the efficiency of learning Chinese. Ms. Xiao Wei from the Academic Affairs Office and Ms. Dai Xing from the International Student Service Center explained the course arrangement and student activities respectively. The officer from the Shanghai Exit-Entry Administration Bureau explained the visa policies and safety precautions.  Ms. Li Xiaoxuan from the International Office introduced the international programs of the School of Humanities.

Through this event, the students could achieve a better understanding of their life and study at SJTU and be well prepared for the new semester.
