Dr. Emmanuel Bonin, Deputy Head of Shanghai American School, Delivered a Speech at SJTU

On March 3, 2021, Dr. Emmanuel Bonin, Deputy Head of Shanghai American School, delivered a speech entitled “21 Lessons for the 21st Century: What Can a Best-seller Teach Us about Education?” to faculty members and MTCSOL program students in the School of Humanities, SJTU.

 


 

In his speech, Dr. Bonin emphasized the importance of searching, analyzing and using information in studies and daily life in this information age. He later mentioned that in the 21st century, the educational system should focus on the cultivation of critical thinking and team spirit. He also encouraged students to keep reading books and keep on lifelong learning.

 



 

After the speech, Prof. Wang Jun, Director of the Center for International Chinese Education, awarded Dr. Bonin the letter of appointment as a career mentor in the School of Humanities. Later, Dr. Bonin and faculty members from the School of Humanities discussed the in-depth cooperation between the School of Humanities at SJTU and Shanghai American School.
