On January 15, the School of Humanities held a Spring Festival celebration for international students. The event attracted more than thirty international students from over ten countries, along with language program students from Nanyang Technological University to attend. Faculty from the School’s International Office, Student Affairs Office, Academic Affairs Office, and the International Student Affairs Center also participated in this event.

During the event, the faculty introduced the traditional culture and customs of the Spring Festival to international students, and guided them on how to make dumplings.

Later, Ms. Zhang Mingzhe introduced the history and culture of Chinese paper-cutting art. Under her guidance, the students experienced Chinese paper-cutting and cut out various vivid patterns such as the Chinese character “Fu” (happiness), the Chinese character “Xi” (joy), pandas, butterflies, and so on.

This event enabled international students to experience the charm of traditional Chinese culture, and deepened their understanding of Chinese culture. The students also mentioned that they would share this wonderful experience with their families and friends, and help spread traditional Chinese culture in the future.
