The Summer Camp of the Confucius Institute at Heidelberg University Successfully Held at SJTU

From August 7 to 18, 2023, 17 university students from the Confucius Institute at Heidelberg University participated in a two-week summer camp at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. With the support of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation and the School of Humanities at SJTU, the students of the summer camp gained a rich learning experience and promoted the exchanges between SJTU and Heidelberg University.

The summer camp offered  a wide range of exciting courses and activities, such as Chinese language courses, Tai Ji, calligraphy and so on. Students improved their Chinese language skills and gained a better understanding of traditional Chinese culture.

The summer camp also provided the students with several outdoor events. They visited many famous historic and cultural sites, such as the bund, Zhujiajiao ancient town, the Humble Administrator’s Garden and so on, and experienced the charm of Shanghai and other cities in China.

Many students mentioned that this summer camp gave them a great opportunity to immerse themselves in a learning adventure and to make good friends as well. They also expressed their willingness to continue their study of Chinese and contribute to strengthening the ties between China and Germany in the future.
