The Fourth SJTU International Young Scholars Forum on Humanities Held Successfully

On December 17, 2022, the School of Humanities held the Fourth SJTU International Young Scholars Forum on Humanities which was also one of the sub-forums of the Third SJTU “Zhi Yuan” International Young Scholars Forum. Faculty members from the school and 16 outstanding young scholars from home and abroad attended the forum online. 



Ms. Qi Hong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Humanities, delivered a welcome address at the opening ceremony. She mentioned that the school would always open its door to talents from all over the world, and she hoped that all the young scholars could enjoy this event and actively express their ideas during the discussions and exchanges.



 

Prof. Wang Ning, Dean of the School of Humanities, gave a detailed introduction to the history and development of the school. He mentioned that the school had made many achievements in recent years, and he hoped that more and more outstanding young scholars could join the school and contribute to its future development. 




Associate Prof. Tao Yu from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature also shared his idea of teaching and research at the school. 

 







On the afternoon of the same day, the young scholars present conducted discussions and exchanges at five separate sessions according to their area of interest. 

Hosted by the School of Humanities, the SJTU International Young Scholars Forum on Humanities is designed for outstanding young scholars all over the world. It is our hope that, through key lectures, seminars and talent exchanges, a platform will be established for worldwide young scholars with excellent academic background in literature, history, philosophy and art to promote understanding and share insights, that the development strategy, discipline construction, scientific research and faculty policies of SJTU and the School of Humanities can be fully understood, and that young scholars will be motivated to achieve their aspirations at SJTU, boosting the development of humanities.
