“Chinese Bridge” Online Program Held Successfully at SJTU

The “Chinese Bridge” Online Program “Cultural Journey: From Traditional China to Modern Shanghai” was held successfully at SJTU from January 11 to January 22. This program was hosted by Center for Language Education and Cooperation and was organised by Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

On January 11, the opening ceremony was held on Xuhui campus of SJTU. Prof. Cai Wenjing, Deputy Dean of the School of Humanities, and the teacher representative prof. Wang Jun, delivered addresses and expressed their warm welcome to all the international students.

The 12-day online program consisted of recorded lectures, live lectures and seminars, providing cultural courses and Chinese language courses to students from all over the world. Through the online study, program students not only learned Chinese language, but also achieved a better understanding of Chinese culture, including traditional Chinese medicine, Chinese calligraphy, Chinese philosophy, traditional Chinese music and so on.

By the end of the program, many students shared their positive perceptions of the program courses and expressed their wish to visit China and to study at SJTU in the future.
