U21 Early Career Researcher Workshop held at SJTU

From Dec.5 to 6, the U21 Early Career Researcher Workshop was held on the Grand Hall of the School of Humanities and Chen Ruiqiu Building in Minhang Campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Huang Zhen, vice president of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, delivered his greeting messages and presented the award. Zhang Wenjun also attended the opening ceremony. Wang Jie, dean of the School of Humanities and Guo Liang, the Deputy Director of the Division of International Cooperation and Exchange, and some other related professors were invited to present and guided the ceremony.


This workshop was held by Shanghai Jiao Tong University for the first time. The workshop gathered many young scholars home and abroad, including scholars from Australia Melbourne University, UNSW (University of New South Wales), The University of Nottingham, The State University of Connecticut (U.S.A), McGill University (Canada), University of British Columbia, University of Singapore and other 35 young scholars from China.


U21 is an international Colleges and Universities Union, which is constituted of 23 academic colleges and universities and has the most influential international influence. Shanghai Jiao Tong University became a member of it in 2005. In recent years, with the guidance of the international strategy, Shanghai Jiao Tong University has made fully use of U21 platform and resources and actively sent stuff to get involved in all kinds of important activities and applied to host this important meeting actively. This U21 Early Career Research Workshop was jointly hosted by the Division of International Cooperation and Exchange and the School of Humanities. Successfully held this meeting not only provides constructive suggestions to the planning and design of school’s teaching and research land but also promotes the cooperation and relationship of the stuff and students in Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the other members of U21.
