Dean Wang Led the Delegation of Humanities School Visiting Two Melbourne Universities

From Jan. 27 to Feb.2, 2013, Professor Wang Jie, dean of the Humanities School of Shanghai Jiao Tong University led a delegation of Humanities School visiting Melbourne in Australia. This delegation visited the Monash University and Melbourne University during the trip. They also signed the cooperation agreements with the School of Humanities of Monash University. During the trip, they were invited to attend an international forum as well.


From Jan.28 to 29, the Delegation with the head of Professor Wang received warm welcome from the School of Humanities of Monash University. The delegation visited their Arts Building and the on-building Summer School. Professor Raelene Frances, present dean of Humanities School, met with the delegation in the Dean Conference Office. Professor Wang Jie signed the “Cooperation Framework Agreement” with Dean Frances, on behalf of the Humanities School of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The two parties planed to explore further cooperation and communication in the fields of joint doctoral-student education bases, exchange studies of teachers and students, joint summer school and international academic journals, etc.


On Jan.30, the Delegation with the head of Professor Wang attended an international forum with the theme of “Space and City—Sino-Australia City Space Cultural Study” sponsored by the School of Humanities of Monash University. Professor Wang was invited to send his congratulatory message and professor Shan Shilian delivered a theme speech on the meeting. Professor Justin O connor, the program director of the media and communication of the School of Humanities of Monash University and visiting scholars of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, hosted the meeting.
