      Chang Liu is a Tenure-track Associate Professor of Philosophy at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His research focuses on the questions at the intersection between Philosophy of Language and Political Philosophy, such as theories of slurs (What makes racial slurs derogatory and offensive?), the ethics of interpretation (What are the fair interpretations of what someone says?), and the moral psychology of offense (Under what conditions is it appropriate to feel offended?). Chang Liu is able to supervise graduate students in philosophy of language.

Chang Liu completed his Ph.D. in Philosophy (2019) at the University of Western Ontario under the supervision of Robert Stainton. Before Shanghai Jiao Tong University, he worked as a Boya Postdoctoral Fellow at Peking University.
