Zhao obtained the D.Sc. from Peking University in 2012.From 2010 to 2011. Zhao paid a six –months academic visit to University of Roma " La Sapienza". Since 2012 she has been a full time researcher of Center for the Tokyo Trial Studies. From 2014-2015 she paid a one-year academic visit to Osaka Kyoiku University in Japan.
