Yin Qinghong graduated in the department of Chinese language and literature at Hunan Normal University in 1997. He got his master degree in aesthetics at Guangxi Normal University in 2005 and obtained his PhD in the theory of Literature and Art at Nanjing University in 2010. From August 2008 to December 2009 he studied the anthropology of art in the department of anthropology at London University College as a joint education doctoral student. From September 2010 to March 2013 he was a post-doctoral researcher in the school of humanities at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Yin Qinghong is now an associate professor  in the department of Chinese language and literature. From 2013.10–11 he was a research Fellow in Monash University, Australia. From 2015.01-07 he was a visiting scholar in the University of Chester. He is the member of Chinese Society of Anthropology of Art and Shanghai Society of Aesthetics.
