Fu Jiexiang was born in Lin Yi, Shanxi province in 1972.He got his doctor degree in Chinese literature from Fudan University in 2003. From 2007 to 2009, he was engaged in post-doctoral research in Research Center for Modern Chinese Literature at Nanjing University. Currently, he is an  professor and Master supervisor in Chinese Literature Department of School of Humanities, Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
